Our Origin.

Two hundred and fifty million years ago, before the Himalayas, a sea closed in what is now the northern edge of Pakistan. The water evaporated. The minerals it left behind compressed into salt — slowly, with iron giving the stone its colour, with eighty-four other trace minerals folded in invisibly. Today that deposit is called the Khewra mine, sitting in the Punjab Salt Range. It is the second-largest source of pink Himalayan salt in the world, and the oldest.

HALORA begins there. Every gram of salt in every object we make is drawn from this stone. We do not import. We are sitting on the oldest light on earth — there is no need to bring any in.

We work in four directions, because salt does four things well — and we wanted to follow each one all the way down.

• Wellness · Skincare — bars, scrubs, crystals, and one cool hand-carved tool. For the body, morning and night.
• Wellness · Therapy — weighted salt-filled cotton pillows and a soft healing light. For the slow ten minutes.
• Home · Light — hand-carved salt lamps. Soft amber-pink, steady through the night.
• Home · Kitchen — grinders, refills, and stone for the table. The daily plate and the slow Sunday lunch.

Nineteen pieces in all. Every piece is hand-blended in our Lahore studio in small batches — typically a hundred units of a thing at a time.

We use one ingredient as our spine. Everything else — the scent, the wood, the cotton, the carving — exists to let the salt do the work it is good at: cleansing, softening, holding warmth, lightly seasoning, glowing.

No factory line. The bars are hand-cut. The scrubs are hand-whipped. The pillows are sewn in our studio. The lamps are hand-carved at the source. If something is delayed, it is because it has not yet been made.
